Overcoming Hidden Disabilities: A Conversation With Michelle Steiner

 Hey there Real Talk family,

I hope you're all doing well. I wanted to share with you all a recent episode of Real Talk with Reginald D that I am particularly proud of. In this episode, I had the pleasure of interviewing the amazing Michelle Steiner, a disability writer, advocate, and paraeducator who was born with hidden disabilities.

Michelle shared her inspiring journey of growing up with a math learning disability, visual perception issues, and limited hand dexterity. She opened up about the challenges she faced in school, socially and academically, and how she overcame them with the support of her parents, friends, and by advocating for herself.

We delved into the signs parents can look for in children with learning disabilities, the importance of seeking help, and the power of self-advocacy. Michelle also talked about her blog, Michelle's Mission, where she shares her experiences and love for photography.

One of the highlights of the episode was discussing Michelle's flower prints and the symbolism of beauty and hope they hold for her. We also touched on the quote, "stop discriminating just because you cannot see it," shedding light on the invisible nature of some disabilities.

If you want to hear more about Michelle's incredible journey and how she navigates life with hidden disabilities, make sure to tune in to this episode. You can listen to it on your favorite podcast platform or on our website.
